White Turtlehead - Chelone glabra

Features a tall flower, similar to a snapdragon, has a tighter, boxier bloom that upon closer inspection, looks like a turtle's head!

Makes an excellent addition to natural gardens and along streams.

Deer resistant, attracts butterflies

Has hollow stems and is best to leave the sticks "as is" till next spring,

Should be left tall so that water will not get all the way to the crown over the winter, causing them to rot. Also leaves a winter habitat for native bees and flies.

Light Requirements: Full Sun-Half Sun / Half Shade.

Soil Moisture: Average, Moist / Wet

Soil Type: Loamy Soil, Sandy Soil, Well-Drained Soil

Mature Height: 24-48" tall. Mature Spread: 12-24" wide

Zone: 4-6
