Climate: Prefers full sun but can tolerate partial shade.

Soil: Tolerant of a wide range of soils, but prefers moist, well drained rich loam. 

Notes: Popular ornamental due to its pink flowers that bloom in high quantity from spring until the first fall frost. Low maintenance. Typically cultivated as from cuttings. Prune old growth only, as flowering occurs on 2nd year growth. 2–4-inch leaves. Native to eastern Asia.

Wildlife: hummingbirds and butterflies. Relatively deer browse resistant.
