At a Glance

Latin Name: Forsythia x intermedia ‘lynwood gold’

Mature Height: 6-10 ft tall and 6 to 8 ft wide

Soil / Climate: Partial to full sun. Easily Established in a variety of soils and climates.

Notes: A low maintenance shrub that is often used to create a dense hedge (may be planted with a 3 to 4 foot spacing between plants).

Grows at a rapid rate and is long-lived.

Early spring bloom of bright yellow flowers are usually profuse and open before leaves emerge. Forysthia flowers are 1 1/4″ to 1 1/2″ long and wide, bell-like and produced in clusters. Dark green leaves are oval, 3″ and turn to yellow in the fall.

Wildlife: Provides habitat for bees and birds.
